Donna's Ditties: April 2019
We have so many kids that I would love to match before the school year is out. It’s such a big deal when a mentor matched at the end of the school year shows up in the fall to mentor again. The kids are always amazed and start to realize that someone cares enough to show up again. Do you know someone you could ask to be a mentor? I would love to fill all the requests before school is done for the season. Please send those you know would make great mentors here!
ISAT testing is in full swing. I want to thank you for your patience during this time of schedule changes and time adjustments. Remember to call ahead before you head to mentoring and ask specifically if your mentee might be in testing during your mentoring time. Thank you for your kindness.
The Treasure Valley Kiwanis Club of Nampa has invited The Mentoring Network and Nampa Optimist football to be the partial recipients of the funds raised, once again, during their FUN golf scramble Swing Fore Kids on May 10th from 8am-2pm at Centennial Golf Course in Nampa. If you enjoy any level of golfing and the outdoors start putting your team together. $75 per person: includes Green Fees, Cart & Lunch. If you'd rather encourage folks you know to be sponsors or donate raffle items that would be a great help. This is a small service club that does some BIG things and we want them to know how much we appreciate them making this fundraising event possible. For details check out the flyer HERE or for questions contact: Claire Connley, email@example.com
How are you doing with mentoring? We are here to help you and would love to hear from you. Contact us if you have questions, concerns, or even great stories to tell.
Please continue to reach out to those you know and invite the amazing people you know to join us in mentoring our local youth. We still have outstanding requests in all districts (Caldwell, Homedale, Nampa, Parma, and Vallivue) so if you know someone who might enjoy sharing what they know with a child, please contact us!
One of our longtime mentors, Dave, has offered to share his time answering questions and acting as a soundboard for other mentors. Sometimes just talking through a concern or question can make all the difference. If you would like to contact him you can email him at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for all you do to make the world better for our youth!
