The Mentoring Network: A rural school-based program serving Idaho schools in Nampa, Caldwell, Homedale, Parma, Vallivue, and more to come...

IN THE SCHOOL

This volunteer school-based mentoring program serves Caldwell, Nampa, Parma, Homedale, and Vallivue schools. We are in the process of extending our program to other rural districts in Idaho.

Research tells us that one of the most meaningful positive factors in the life of a child is a caring and reliable adult and this program is specifically designed to address that need.

Youth referred to this school-based mentoring program by their schools are typically those who are socially or emotionally distressed at the time of referral.

Over the past nine years, 95% of youth participants have improved in at least one of the following areas: grades, attendance, behavioral referrals. When a child perceives someone cares, things in their life change.

If you are an educator that would like more information about this program, or to schedule an in-service presentation, please contact Donna Shines at 208.459.2844.
